Default scan safely

just in case anyone needs help doing a scan ::

START YOUR DBOX2 UP AND CLICK THE DBOX BUTTON ON YOUR REMOTE
SCROLL DOWN AND CHOOSE SERVICE
SCROLL DOWN TO SERVICE SCAN
NOW U HAVE TO MAKE SOME CHANGES IF THEY ARE NOT ALLREADY SET
GO TO SCAN FOR SERVICES
PRESS OK BUTTON UNTILL IT CHANGES TO ALL SERVICES
NOW GO DOWN TOO BOUQUET
PRESS OK UNTILL IT SAYS LEAVE EXISTING/CURRENT !! THIS IS IMPORTANT !!
CABLE PROVIDER SHOULD BE CableUK Sym6887 is for NTL(VIRGIN) and CableUK Sym6952 is for TW (telewest/C AND W)
IF NOT CLICK OK UNTILL IT DOES
SCROLL DOWN TO FAST SCAN AND CHOOSE OFF
WHEN THIS IS ALL DONE GO DOWN TO START SCAN AND CLICK OK
LEAVE THE BOX TOO IT AND IT WILL SEARCH OUT ANY CHANNELS AVAILABLE IN YOUR AREA
WHEN IT IS DONE AND IT TAKES A WHILE! TURN OFF YOUR DBOX AND RESTART IT.
WHEN THE BOX REBOOTS THE CHANNELS SHOULD ALL BE THERE READY FOR VIEWING, GIVE YOUR BOX A LITTLE TIME TO PULL IN THE EPG and decode the channels AS IT CAN TAKE 10 MINUTES TO DO THAT.
Leave the dbox on discovery or any pay channel, it will be blank at first (leave 10-20 mins)

You may find that disconnecting a splitter before scanning may give better results.

Hi

Most images press blue button on remote scroll down to set your location or similar. Choose location and ok and let it reboot.

Anyone in the same boat as me, I'm ready to scan but want to make sure I'm doing it right in case I lose all my channels.

How do I make sure my channels don't get lost or is this just a rsk one has to take?

hi guys

i never set my location on any box i have or work on.... let the scan do the work...

also the guy that has kabel deuschland i have seen this a few times on some boxes , it needs to have a new image flashed to it.. nothing you can change will stop that its like a plague lol you cant get rid. reflash it, and ive noticed that some people have reported this happening to their box after they have moved channels or messed with the settings.

if you follow my guide the scan will be successful...

heres another big tip for eveyone... i have noticed scans that didnt get all the channels or the box is not working as it should (erraticly). check the box on the wall for an oversize splitter ntl/tw and cand w used to use in the old days, these splitter degrade the signal and cause dboxes etc to work in wierd ways, half the channels ,channels dissappearing etc you have to have the purest feed possible to have your dbox/etc working 100%.

hope this helps people !!

regards dave

hi mate

check my last reply and check your splitters you only want small digital splitter and not the old bulky analogue ones, also another symptom of not getting all the channels is a weak or dieing tuner, try a booster from argos see if that helps, but check the splitters both inside and outside your house first.
anything inline that you dont need get rid and replace it with a straight thru connector.

regards dave

I might be wrong here but sounds like you have got a german image. Have you only recently acquired this box with pre-installed image ? I'd personally flash a new one and start from scratch.

but first see what other say just incase I'm wrong though.
