Help! - need some advice please! Just got a new Eurovox Max V - with the "free to air" software pre loaded. Have downloaded the right DNUPMAN software (Kuro etc) and have attached the Eurovox to pc with null modem cable (9pin etc both ends) with power cable only attached to box - then attached to PC.
- When I start the software and click "Download" the PC can't find the Eurovox on either com port 1 or 2??? - Both ports seem to be working fine (have checked with "device driver" etc through "my computer"). - Have also tried two different null modem cables and same thing happens. The pc cannot see seem to see/find the box? (When attached to the TV etc and surfed for channels - this worked fine - found all channels but obviously only FTA.) Any help much appreciated....? |

Hi jonesjones,
i'm fairly new to this but i had the same problem when i did my box, however another member suggested i reverse the null modem cable and that worked for me! I had tried allocating the ports manually but nothing worked for me except reversing the cables....Like i said im no expert but its worth a try!!! Last edited by jds7ar; 07-12-08 at 09:08 PM. |

so good they named him twice..
In all honesty it could be a number of things, faulty eurovox, faulty lead, faulty com port. Best thing to do is try and change all the variables until you get some success (e.g. try your pc & lead on another box, if that dosent work try your lead & your box on another pc, try your box someone elses lead on your pc etc etc) Do you know anyone with a eurovox? |

Hi Jones Jones
Exact same problem with mine mate and it turned out that the 9 pins in the back of my laptop were a parallel port and not a serial port - ie I had to buy a USB to Null Modem Adapter. After that it worked fine. Hope this helps Dingo |

Seen lots of posts about this problem in the past and going into device manager and changing the port has done the trick for a lot of them ....one such thread Flashing eurovox with Null-Modem Cable & USB to RS232 Adapter
