i have my ps2 through my av cable the one with red, yellow, and white which came with my ps2 on my hd tv, i notice on soul cailber 2, it supports progressive scan but when i choose this option it just says goes to no signal?

I'm not familiar with game consoles, but you won't get Prog. Scan to work through the standard red/white/yellow connector. You'll need to connect via a component cable for this, if a PS2 supports it.
