hi guys and girls
i had a good repsonse from my last guide so heres another :: Hi Heres is a guide as too how to flash your dbox….. Hopefully its easy to follow but you never know…. Firstly copy all the files on this cd to your pc. Then when that’s done have a cuppa….. Now hook the dbox up too the network with either a normal Ethernet cable if you have a hub, or a cross over cable if you just have the one pc and no network. Do not power on the dbox yet just hook it up to the pc and leave it un-plugged. The ifa software does not need installing, it will run from where you put it on your pc. Click the ifa icon to start the software….. u will notice a small box appear at the bottom of the screen, this is normal. One thing to note the pc might ask to reboot to allow mediasensing to work, this is also normal but doesn’t always need to be done on every pc. A bigger box will appear on your screen with welcome to the d-box2 flashing assistant,,, etc etc. Click the next button, in the first box labeled 1.: slide your mouse over to the search box on the right of this and click search, and point it towards where you copied the image files over too. If you have a 2x sagem find the image for that,,,, same for 1x . nokias are 2x anyway so choose that image file if relevant. The box will have something like this in it::: c:\sagem 2x\flashimage_[1x].img Right now go down too the please choose a network card box and click the blue downward facing arrow. This wil give you a list of all the network cards on your pc… if there is one listed then that’s what you need, if more than one you can rule out any wireless cards listed as we are using the fixed network card so choose that one.. mine is a via compatible fast Ethernet adapter… yours will be similar but not the same. Click start and a box will start saying the pc will now be prepared for the flashing process…. Click ok. Now watch out for a fierewall box that will pop up,, sometimes its behind the main d-box flashing box so check behind it,, click unblock. Then a hallenberg.com box will be on screen, what this is waiting for is a dbox starting up somewhere on the network. Power up the dbox and if all the connections are in where they should be then the software will kick in and begin the flashing progress which you can see on screen and on the dbox itself. It will tell you when it is done,,, with the word fertig. (must be german for finished). Then when its done click close and power the dbox down by removing the wall plug. Then unplug the network cable and stick your dbox back under your tv and wire it up as usual. Then power it up and follow the guide as supplied with your dbox. Easy really you just need to do a scan to familiarize your dbox with your area settings. That should be it all done. |

Hi all,
Usually pay £20 to get my box flashed but after spending many hours reading on here I'm considering trying it myself. Just wondered if its possible to cause any irreparable damage to the box if done incorrectly? Thanks in advance |

I've spent loads of time reading on here and pretty confident but just worried if I mess something u the box will be knacked. So maybe better just paying the £20 but fancy trying it myself.
Just want to make sure if I do mess it up that it can be fixed. |

yes the worse u can do is put on the wrong type of img, have a power cut during flashing, corrupt the img.....then IFA comes to the rescue
