volume gone on max v

I have looked and can not see any other thread on this. Since updating my max v with the new fix 30.11.08 and then 05.12.08 the volume on my max v does not work, pressing the button on the remote the bars on the screen go up and down but does not affect the volume one bit but press mute it works, changed the batterys still the same. Its not the end of the world as i just use the telly remote but just think is the remote broke or what.
