Hey all.
Don't know whats happening to my pace 4001 box, over the last few months a lot of channels have been gradually getting worse. BBC2 for instance now constantly gets picture freezing and a break up of the sound. Other channels are the same yet some (like channel 5) are perfect. Most channels are just unwatchable though. I've tried taking off everything (splitters / extentions) off my coax cable and plugging the box directly into the lead coming in, just incase it was a weak signal but i get the same thing. I've also only recently updated my mosc but this problem started before then. I have rebooted a few times over the last few days to see if that may help but my box started getting "tune" on the display and wouldn't come on. The only way I could get it started was to hold up on the front of the box whilst booting. This skipped the tune bit and random letters and numbers starting showing on the display until it got stuck on AP:52. If I left it on for about 15 mins like this, I would get the box working again, but as usual the crappy picture. After reading a few thread last night, I removed my mosc card, rebooted and left it on Tune overnight. When I woke up the box needed rebooting as it was very sluggish and something wasn't right. I put my mosc in and it seems to be booting ok now but still the picture / sound on most channels is unbearable. What can I do here? do I have two problems or are the Tune issue and crap picture related? I can put up with it being a pain to reboot but the picture quality / sound is something I can't live with. Can anyone help? |

4001's nightmare
. I had a similar problem & the only way to get picture/sound was to put the box on its side, lol, however i removed the cim & tightened the nuts on the back of it & that did the job.... Did you ever try a different scart when your channels were unwatchable?.....You could be in for a long challenge mate good luck pal

Not tried a different scart yet, first thing you should have tried mate.I find most of these boxes need forced to boot up even with a good signal coming in. Try another scart & see how things go

the sound comes directly out of the pace and thru my av receiver and that breaks up so I think its a problem with the pace. Will give it a go tonight and see anyway. Might even try the box on the side tip! hehe

Hi, no other box unfortunately. Haven't even got a friend with one either
![]() Just tried another scart, just the same unfortunately. Tipping the box on its side / messing about with the coax seems to do nothing also. Do you mean by engineers menu - services then tech stuff? Here's some stuff from there anyway... return path off snr 34.1db agc signal level 52 return power 55dbmv any ideas? |

Not something i was recommending btw,it was just something i had to do,lol. Could be a problem with your tv or box scart socket ,have you tried your box on another tele, sorry just trying to rule out the obvious before you go taking the box apart. Hopefully you get it sorted soon mate

thanks mate. its all appreciated. I was willing to give anything a try, be it turning the box upside down, submersing it in water, hitting it with a hammer, whatever.
I'm pretty sure its not my tv as everything else is fine thru it, plus the sound which comes directly out of the box is still jerky. |
