Default HD on Thor 1w?

I've got this running thru my skystar (thor) was wondering if the HD channels are only clear with a diablo (or a paid sub!)
If not what are they because they don't seem to appear on my scan ....

There are a few HD channels, in the Canal Digital package, but you will need a Diablo Cam, or a MII+ card, to open them, I don't think there are any in the Digi TV package, which is currently available on general emulation.

when you say you can't get them, do you mean you can't find them, or they won't unscramble?

If you have a Diablo, and a programmer, load Underworld 149, that'll open Canal Digital's HD channels on Thor, well, it does for me anyway.

Thanks FlyerUK, My card was already programmed when i got it so i will have to check tonight to see which Underworld version i have. Haven't got a programmer yet (only got satellite fitted Wednesday) but i will be getting one very soon. Should i rescan the channels often? My receiver, TM6900 HD Super, has a blind search.

Thanks again

The CAS 3+ programmer is highly rated, use it meself, shop around though, they vary in price, got mine from Hisat. You shouldn't need to rescan channels unless you think you're missing some, check on Lyngsat or Kingsat if you think you are. Am currently thinking of getting a TM6800 HD, (don't need the Freeview tuner option) to replace the Fortec Passion I have. Maybe after Xmas

I ordered the CAS 3+ programmer at dinner so hopefully will have this tomorrow. Got it for £49 delivered from Southern Sat. Doesn't look too difficult to use although i am a complete newbie to this. Think i need a few hours of searching around on the box to get use to it. Hoping to get time over crimbo to find work out what i'm doing properly.
I did look at the 6800 HD before i went for the 6900 HD, from reading on here it seems the 6800 doesn't have a blind scan.
I've been a bit disappointed with the picture quality on standard channels, don't know if it's just me, but the HD channels are brilliant quality although i can only get BBC HD, LUX HD and maybe ITV HD (not been broadcasting when i've looked)
I've got a feeling i've got the Underworld 146 software on my Diablo so will need updating so i can get more HD channels.

Well, the Cas 3+ is incredibly easy to use, find the sticky for programming the Diablo, and you'll have it updated in no time. The CAS Studio software you can download from Duolabs website, you may need a USB cable as well toconnect it to the pc.
