Dear All!!! I live in Northern Ireland & currently have sky but want to extend my options for watching EPL matches- particularly on Saturday afternoons. I have looked on various web sites and there would appear to be numerous channels that show EPL matches on Saturdays eg C+ Sport 1 (Thor 5), Nova Sport (Galaxie- Astra 3A), Premier Sports portal (Astra 1G), C+ sport pol (Hotbird 7A), DigitalAlb Supersport (Eutelsat W2) etc
I know i will need another dish to try to receive these channels and it would need to be motorised in order to increase my options...but this is where i have run out of inspiration!!!! Can someone please advise me on what equipment i would need in order to view these channels (or at lease some of them. For instance what sort of receiver would i need? I would only be interested in viewing the football and wouldn't need one with high def or a hard disk recorder. I have seen people talking about patched receivers- what are these and where can they be got? I have also seen people talking about diablo CAMS (????) would i need one of these also? i set up my sky dish but don't really know much about the receivers. Your help and advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks Trev

Hi, for 16E supersports a 1m dish should be OK. A diseqc motor such as a Moteck sg2100 or a Dark Motor, would do the job of moving it around.
For DigitalB, although a Diablo does open it for free I believe, you don't NEED one as you can buy a subscription for a couple of hundred. ![]() Receiver wise, a TM5400 would do the job, as it would accept the Diablo cam, and a DigitalB card

Only Trouble with Digitalb is they have been ordered not to show 3.00pm K.O so you'd be throwing your £200 away - The best box I've come across at the moment is A Dark Box from Alsat - once patched it will pull quite a few of the less well know channels, like Prima TV (Cz), Sport TV (Hungary), Eurosportt (Rom), Galaxy Sport (Nova), and hell of a lot more and the patch is free ! Diablo is a must for Canal Digital Nordic - majority of big games shown on Canal+ it also gets all the sexview channels on Hotbird if you can bothered to update the files every other day, if its just footy you want its not so bad - once a week/ten Days new files come out. But do be warned - most subsciption channels are switching over to Nagra 3 in the New Year, which allegedly hasn't been cracked yet - so a good old Setanta Ireland card may be your best bet - they get some top games, like Hull City at Liverpool this week and at home to Sunderland next !!!!

Thanks for the advice guys. I was looking at the digialb package and was very tempted and the advertisement looked good- but i was looking on a few forums and some were saying it did not provide what it said it would do i.e. 3pm kick offs. I wouldn't mind paying £200 if it actually provided these matches- as a result i would perfer to invest may money in receiving equipment that would at least show me what was available.
Ok few more questions!!! i was looking on e-bay and the following list claimed that it could descramble 7 matches- is there any truth in this?? Also is the receiver any good (don't think this one takes a cam- Technomate 5200D Super Patched with all channels on eBay, also Digital Receivers, Satellite Boxes Receivers, Satellite Cable Freeview, Consumer Electronics (end time 29-Dec-08 14:42:11 GMT) The point made regarding setanta was very interesting- i actually subscribe to the full setanta package but of course these matches are blocked on saturdays. Can this be unblocked or where could i get a setanta ireland card? Would such a card work in my current sky receiver? Thanks for all the advice so far!!! Trev

Hi mate,
Get 1m dish and a decent motor, Then get a receiver like a tm5400 or another but make sure you have a ci slot and card slot. Other suggestions would be a dreambox but for a newbie they take a little more to get set up. Digi alb is poor quality the picture quality is awful and they are currently not showing 3pm games anyway. You best off buying a diablo cam or an m2+ card, diablo and cas 3 you can get for £110.00 and m2+ will cost £47.00 ish plus programmer @ £15.00. These will get you full digi albania and c+ nordic, Diablo also gets you kablekiosk on 8w with bundersleague, and sexview. The m2+ as of yesterday also kablekiosk but not working for some. Only issues is you take your chances with anything that bypasses the encyrption. But its much cheaper than buying the original card. ki

Thanks for the help guys!!! A few more queries!!!
Firstly with a motorised dish i assume the motor will only alter the horizontal alignment (not vertical)- do all of the satellite lie in the same vertical alignment? When i was setting up my sky dish i had to alter the angle of skew of the lnd in order to get the strongest signal- i assume you can only have the one angle of skew on a motorised dish? I have a spare 600mm diameter sky dish and lnb- would this do initally if i got a technomate/darkman? what is the advantages of getting a patched technomate/dark man? Also how do you make use of the USB port on these boxes? Your help is much appreciated!!! Trev
