Default Ready Made Scripts?

There are thousands of ready made free javascripts on internet. So, basically will you use one of them or write your own?

If I knew programming, I would write my own because it will look unique from thousands using the ready made script.

I use readymade scripts since I don't know PHP so sometimes it becomes difficult to find the right one so need to learn PHP soon!

javascript is client side and java is also client side but it makes you download something like a class on your computer. I m not sure if javascript will connect to mysql though I haven't done it yet.

if you know java we're happy to learn from you

Sorry...I instead of reading the first post looked other posts which were referring to PHP! But even in Javascript case, I still use readymade scripts and sometimes imporvise upon them if they are not up to my requirements!
