Default best/easiest box

Hi im a total newbie, ive looked around the site for a few days now and picked up bits and bobs of info, Im looking to get a box - not sure what 1, just a simple to use box, im hearing u can get boxes that auto update when keys change etc.

Apologies if i sound dumb but im just looking for the best box and also genuine suppliers, One which has pause / record etc and supports hd would be a bonus

I would recommend DBox, Eurovox or Starview because all you need to do is plug it in, do a channel scan and that should be it. Wherever you buy it from, ask the seller if it has the NEW Auto Update fix on. Without this you won't get your "free" channels. You could also use an original NTL box providing you know how to program cards. They don't need channel scanning so as long as the card is programmed correctly, they work perfectly fine.

Thanks for the prompt response, i have no idea how to programme cards lol! Is equipment expensive and easy to use? also are there any trusted sources for starview etc because surely all suppliers would say it has the ' free channels and auto update etc.

Well if you want to go down the NTL box route, you would need an unlooper (to unlock the card) and a card programmer (does what it says on the tin lol). There are power sellers on eBay who will have these updates on the box. They will say "free" as they are not allowed to sell it as equipement to receive free Cable TV.

If you like, I will have a look at some boxes and get you some information? Drop me a PM if you are interested and I will give you some reputable sellers from which you can buy a decent box .

you can get a eurovox with hardrive from Lincsat's Nick-nacks (Shop).
One of the best to deal with.
