Hello Peeps i have a 250 which I paid for a long time ago with the software already on there all i had to do was plug in n play

but i stopped using it well before virmin decided to brick them and im currently using my normal subcription sb500 2 meg connection which i pay for !

But i want to come back in to the modem area and start using it again so what will i have to do ?

Because i dont want to plug it back in with the old settings and get it bricked ?

I have got all the stuff i need eg: ntl configurator / dhcp sniffer / dhcpforce / and hopefully the right usb drivers as i connect via usb .

ive done reading over the last few days on these forums and i hear i have to change the name n pass n some other things could some 1 jus point out how n get me up n running please....

Yeah sorry didnt read your post throughly, you dont need any USB drivers, all you need is it powered on and connected to the computer via Ethernet cable. Use the Ambit Config Tool which can be found in the Private FTA section of this site.

i cant use Ethernet as my pc is old an i need to buy a network card so i connect via usb =( so i think i have right drivers anyway. and i use the 250 configurator . but how do i change the name n pass every 1 going on bout / n commands in hyperterminal

Im not entirely sure but I didnt think it could be done via USB it has to be Ethernet, Ethernet cards are penuts you know and are faster than USB.

yea im going to buy one when im out and about then use it . but when i used it in past i could go online etc via usb and i could change the mac using the 250 configurator so il give it a try

but my point is do i have to change those name n pass settings n how to after the modems got bricked

neway im finally online again and yes you can edit and write settings via usb which i have done is this the right config file to use cm-20480-768?

before virmin did the hits on the modems i wasnt using it and i jus pluggd it back in yesterday after months and it works i am online but i havnt changed a thing is this safe or will my modem get bricked sooner or later.?
