Thank you for your email.

The average price of our offering is so low, we feel there would be little benefit in reducing the range by very small amounts, but it would be more beneficial to all our customers if our more expensive promotional products were discounted even further, therefore Maplin intend to keep the retail price on most of our offering the same, while adjusting the ex-vat rate to comply with the change to VAT.

i got the exact same reply word for word, to my email asking them to explain why they chose not to pass on the VAT reduction.
So That's two customers they have lost cause they're not gonna get any more of my money either! Thieving gits!

ditto. the VAT reduction was intended to ease the burden on consumers feeling the pinch not to line some greedy directors bonus. i`ve spent my last quid at maplin, never again.
