Default help needed installing windows

hi
im trying to install xp on my emachine 420 using the 2 master boot disks.

i have installed a new hard drive created dos partion and formated drive
now prob is wheni run the setup disk i get error cannot open r:220.GHO
can some1 help point me in the right directiononhow to install the windows please

Saw this post somewhere else:

One of the reasons I wanted a clean installation was because the DVD ROM wasn't working. I kept seeing CD ROM as being the 1st Boot Device in the BIOS and assumed this was the CD/RW...Wrong!

I had to swap over the 2 to make the CD RW the first boot device. after that the installation worked.


What he's saying is he'd been trying to boot from the wrong CD drive.

If it's not that I would install from a proper XP disc.

yes ive seen it to mate.
but no it doesnt help at all as ive only 1 cd/dvd rom installed on pc
and yes ive set up for cd rom to boot first
and ive checked the state of the disks to make sure they are clean.
