Default need some help please

right guys my laptops doing my head in
when ever i turn it on i get 2 options
both say window xp home
how can i disable 1
so only 1 loads up straight away the other ones currup and i have to keep choosing the option
any ideas ?

Go to: Control Panel/Systems/Advanced tab/Startup and Recovery section/Settings

At the top you will see Microsoft Windows etc
Just below that and to the right you will see "Edit" click on that.
Boot.ini will open in Notepad; modify (delete carefully) the second instance of Microsoft Windows etc that you see AFTER Fast Detect.
Go to File and Save then Exit Notepad.
Do a restart and you shouldn't see it anymore.

While you're in XP go to Start and Run, type in msconfig and hit enter.
Click on the Boot.ini tab and if I remember correctly you can have Windows diagnose the boot up options.
Once you've fixed this you get an annoying box, on boot up, telling you that you have made changes, just tick for this not to be shown in future.
Beaten to it while checking if it's the same for XP.
