i was reading through a couple of posts on the forum which suggested that if i changed the tftp ip, the modem should start working agen. I jus wanted to ask, when changing the tftp ip, does it have to be for the area i live in, or is it dependant on where the mac is located from.

how is the modem registering? what i mean is if you watch it connecting on 192.168.100.1 it will tell you where its failing.

usually it will lock on, then yopu can se it getting assinged via dhcp and then it eastablishes ip connectivity ect. tell me where yours is failing.

also, make sure your usb mac is one up from hfc mac.

Apperently leaving the TFTIP blank will let it auto find the correct one, try that...

blank works for sigma/5100mod/haxorware.

for infinite i have no idea, but this is a very old and very out of date firmware without a gui, if you are running infinite, its time for an upgrade.

to be honest im not really sure what firmware is on the modem, as my mate had set it up. the modem i hav is a sb4200. i followed G77's advice and had managed to get all the led's on the modem to work correctly; but still could not connect to the internet. When i check the connection status on my pc it says invalid ip adress, and tells me to repair it. when i click repair it cannot renew ip address??? any1 know wats wrong?
