eurovox new 'sky' box

hello lads and lasses, has anyone heard anything, or got any info on eurovox,s new ex8000 hd, box. i,ve heard its SATELITE only,(doesnt work with cable) and apparently, does everything a sky plus box can do. i.e, can record 2 programs at the same time, u can watch 1 pre-recorded program while recording another, pause live telly, record series link, and set to record without timers. can u hook up to a sky feed without being connected to them, ie, NOT on subscription, or do u need to be a subscriber, in other words, would it work if your dish was turned off. not that i have plans to get sky for free,just wondered. surely gadget fiend or ronster will know. davey eff.

You wont be able to receive sky channels but there plenty of satellites out there that it will pick up
you'll probably get more/better advice in the sat section

as its not a cable receiver you would be better asking in the sat part of the forum.You will be able to use almost any sat dish with the correct lnb.You will not be able to get sky ppv chans without a sub.The lnb gets its power from the receiver.

the bloke from the shop reckns it can do EVERYTHING a sky plus box can, then again, he would say that, but i must say ronster, that comes as a totall surprise, at 300 pund a pop( thats with the harddrive) i wudda thought ude get sky chanels.

It surely can.....but will not receive what a sky plus box can, there's a difference.

its just a free sat box, and not a cheap one, it will not get any subbed channels, that particular holy grail remains as elusive as ever, if it did then 300 smackers would be chicken feed.

If you could get all the sky channals we would all have one. The satellite side of things is more of a hobby for enthusiasts.

Im no sat expert m8......but only way to get the sky stuff is though a full paid subription as its not been hacked, as ive said the box will pick up other satellites eg hotbird ect, i think sky broadcast mainly from astra satellite.
You will receive loads of channels quite alot in HD but no sky mate
There was alot of interest in this box previous to being released, then it was announced its for satellite interest soon disappeared lol
