Dear all!!!

How does LNB skew work on a motorised system???...do you set the lnb vertical?

in a word, yes at least you start there, and tweak it for best reception on your favourite bird, though generally if it's vertical it should be ok for most sats.

Yes, zero skew on a motorised dish.

This is because when the motor moves round the whole dish with LNB gets skewed.

In the olden days of analogue satellite broadcasting, the skew was controlled on a per satellite or per channel basis with a variable-voltage output on the receiver and a magnetic polariser collar between the feedhorn and the LNB. There being an effect where the magnetic field generated would twist the signal to correctly enter the single-polarity LNB.
