I've got The Box (Starview 2) Updated firmware 2 weeks ago, and everything has been running fine.
I was watching Cricket this morning, when the screen went black, and a box came up saying 'Channel changed - please wait while saving' Now ALL the scambled channels say - Scrambled channel/Bad or no signal. I've tried going into menu, turning EMU off, then turning system off and back on, then putting EMU on, and going to SlySport 1, but still has same message on screen. Anyone else having this problem? Anyone think of anything I can try, don't really want to do a full new scan, takes ages to put the channelsback in order... |

OK managed to fix this. I opened GTrom, uploaded "channel list file" connected the box and saved it as "channels". Then whacked the box back on the TV, factory settings, re-added the new firmware from a fortnight ago, uploaded the channel list file i called "channels". menu, 1570, then checked Nagravision which was all still FFFF's.
So i changed the names to 00 and 01 and the keys came up with them. Rescanned, and the "updating channel" came up and is working fine now. |

I've found that some channels are broadcast twice.
Sky Sports 1 is broadcast twice on my Starview, and it is this channel that has caused the system to go off. It seems that Virgin broadcast some channels twice, and only use one. then a week or so later, they'll change to the other channel. (if that makes sense) Ok... Here is what causes the problem. The channel that isn't being used (in my case Sky Sports 1) it sends an update to your box which causes the KEY to change to 'FFFFFFFFFF'. Easy way to fix this, is to change the box to any other channel (no the channel that caused it to go off). Go onto MENU and press 1570, then SET DEFAULT KEY. (this will change the key back to normal) Come off the menu, and go back to any channel, and it will say CODE UPDATING, and the box will work normall again. TIP - do not go on the channel that causes the box to get a 'bad update'. |

This happened to my next door neighbours starview 2, but not mine, weird. I noticed all the F's as the key too. But rescanning, and keeping on the same channel (sports1) and being patient (waiting for auto update a few times), worked just fine.
