Hi guys/gals,
I have an acer aspire 5315 1GB DDR2, 252mb mobile GraphicsMedia.
What I want to know is is there any way to play the sims on it, for my daughter.
System requirements on the game are Ram 256, video card must have 32MB or more.
All seem to be within tollerances apart from the processor speed which on the laptop is 533 Mhz, the games asking for 800Mhz.

Is this the problem? Or will more DDR ram solve it?

533mhz is the fsb speed the processor speed is 1.73 ghz u got no probs running sims on it

I saw a similar problem running the Sims 2 on an old but not bad specced laptop here. If you check the Disk for a text file there are a list of tips / issues here. You can add some switches e.g make the game run in a window rather than fullscreen, no sound etc. I forget the exact switches but they are on the cd. Also, the same text file has a precise list of supported GFX cards and issues. It may simply not support it, hopefully this isn't the case! I don't have a Sims disk here to check sorry. Good luck.

Are you running Vista by any chance? If so look on their website for a possible patch

Reading the back of sims 2 box you need over 500mb ram for Vista. The sims gobbles memory and can make things run slow.

Stick another gig in it for starters. Probably wont help you run the sims but the puter will run better.
