Question bit torrent help

Not sure if its just when I run bit torrent but every time my connection reaches its peak speed it decreses slowly to zero then says a network cable is unplugged, or limited or no connectivty, I have used the program for ages and never had a problem until i did a full re-install a few weeks ago, so I have just done another but still having the same problem, don't suppose virmin have introduced a cut off to stop people downloading have they, or could it be to do with the port forwarding as I dont get that bit but as I said never had the problem before

how is your network configured? do you plug directly into a modem or have you a router as well?

it sounds like you are crashing what ever hubs are in your network. try and limit your download speed to just below your connections peak and see if that helps. if not, bring it down a couple of notches and try again.

i would think it unlikely that a OS re-install would cause your problems. did you install the modem/router software again after your re-installs?

you can eliminate port-forwarding as a potential problem here, as if you had a problem with that it would give you slow torrent speeds while still showing as connected to the network. the fact that you can reach your connections peak indicates port-forwarding is not an issue.

Which bit torrent client are you using?

Are you sure you configured it exactly the way it was before

The other thing worth checking out is if your ISP have introduced network profiling. This is most noticeable if you download a load of stuff during peak time

surely his ISP wouldn't disconnect him altogether? the connection would be throttled once the user hit a download limit, and that wouldn't cause the connection to drop.
