hi is it possable to use a wireless netgear router supplied by vm on a modded modem without it been detected?

change the routers ethernet mac address, if you use the router on a subbed modem then on a hacked one, your routers mac is sent to the ISP.

this is a possible tracking point.

thanks for that.only tried on a modded modem changed mac and it worked for like 4 min then went off so did my modded 5100 just pc light on now.tried to reflash 5100 but still the same it goes to connect all lights come then it returns to just the pc light.is it dead?

you should of changed the mac on the ROUTER, not the modem.

sounds like you need to flash a 2mb dump to fix up the modem.
if you have no joy, pm me i offer a fix/reflash service thats pretty cheap and no fix no fee

what i mean is i changed mac on router to my modded modem and then they boyh crashed

you changed the mac on the router to the modded modem? that doesnt make much sense to me....

you should of just changed the WAN mac of the router to a couple of digits difference from what it was, sounds like you changed them to the same as each other? thats a no no.

however, if you are indeed bricked my offer to unbrick for £10 + shipping is still open.
