Default worth downloading patches for Astra 28E?

Hi guys,

I have a Zone 1 mini-dish fixed on Astra 28E. Is it worth downloading patches for my TM-5200, or are these only useful for large motorised dishes.

Thanks again for helping me with these basic questions.

Norman

A patch wont open anything on 28E.

If you want Sky - you pay for it

If you dont want to pay - you do without

Thanks for the info. I wasnt suggesting a way of getting out of paying sky. However since there are FTA and freesat channels on 28E, I thought this satellite is not exclusively sky.

All the Freesat channels are fta and will work with any digital receiver modded or unmodded. The main things you will find different to a Freesat box

1) no 7 day epg - now & next only

2) channels may disappear when pid changes take place - some boxes dont track changes coerrctly

3) More channels! - not all the fta channels have paid for inclusion on the freesat epg.

Go for it!
