Exclamation VirginMedia launches 50meg service

Worth a look but I personally will be waiting to see how it works out for a while first Plus I want to see the STM levels etc etc etc, still its kind of a milestone for the UK.

yes & im on the medium package ! 2 mb ...they have cancelled the medium package & now its just L10mb, XL20mb, XXL50mb, iv rung them uptoday & there saying that my package will go up fro m 2mb to 10 mb but I 'YES I' WILL HAVE TO PAY EXTRA £2, but why should we as its not us who have diceded to change the speeds ! ............. So IF YOUR PAYING £14 A MONTH FOR 2MB IT'S GOING UPTO £16 ! (for 10MB) are THEY GOING to keep doing this !
IF UR AS PEE''D OF AS ME LEAVE UR COMMENT PLZ, (** the money is not the point**)

I read somewhere. Sure it was on TW, or on a newspaper website. That they would be upgrading 2mb customers for free. Its stupid telling customers that because the package that they opted for isnt their no more. That they have to pay an additional £2. I no its not much. But thats an extra £24 a year.

Virgin Media to offer 2.6m more homes 10Mbps broadband | Media | guardian.co.uk

An upgrade is on the cards as you say, but not without conditions it seems.. I can't beleive they consider PCGuard a bonus to have! I'm guessing people will be downgrading to the current 2meg to save a few quid. Hoping they don't traffic manage it differently than the existing 10meg service (as per rumors) Time will tell I guess

until the day (not gonna happen..), the STM is relaxed I can't see myself bothering to be honest. Fed up of having to wait until 9pm to do any serious downloading (no i don't download loads of pirated stuff by the way)
