Exclamation rom 10 problem, please help

hey guys, I have a couple of problems, gonna run through them real quick and hope someone can point out something simple that I haven't done or have done wrong.
I programmed two mosc rom 11 cards yesterday, no problem really. I couldn't access them at first but after reading the card in xncs and noting down the backdoor keys from co40 and co70 I managed to write images and had no problems, these were easier to do in that I already had the bk and ird numbers noted down.
The card I am trying to do now is a Rom 10 mosc card paired to a Pace Di4001NC. I have the ird number and the card has been programmed before so it isn't locked. However, trying to read the card in nagra edit I get

Opening of COM2 was successful
ATR String: 3F FF 95 00 FF 91 81 71 A0 47 00 44 4E 41 53 50
30 31 30 20 52 65 76 41 38 36 44
ROM Revision: 010
EEPROM Revision: RevA86
ProviderID: 54
CamID: 24 67 C5 E8
Using BD3 Key: 4E 69 70 50 45 72 20 49 73 20 61 20 62 75 54 74
Attempting to login to BD3
Reading ROM10 failed
Closing of COM2 was successful

so I tried xncs to see if I could access the card just to get th bk code. xncs sometimes detects the card but usually does not. When it does, it I attempt to read the card it either says no return atr string, or it says

ATR=3FFF9500FF918171A04700444E41535030313020526576 41383644

or sometimes

Unsuficient bytes for atr(4),not a nagra card.
ATR=12E000F2
Sorry...Not Dumping card.

I can't just wipe the card with mrom because I need the bk code.
Can anyone think why I'm having this problem?
I understand there is a way to get the bk from the box, would this be expensive to do it terms of obtaining correct hardware, is it difficult to do in itself because I can't solder worth a damn. If anyone can shed some light on this it would be great, reply here or pm me.

My second problem is very similar in that it concerns a card paired with the same model pace box, di4001, however, the card is a rom 7 rev718 which I understand is near impossible to re-program, and so I will have to use a funcard, is that possible to put a rom11 image on a funcard and use it with a box originally paired with a rom7 card? If so that is what I'd like to do but, once again I don't have the bk code.

Thanks for your time guys, I have tried reading around but most threads are old, out of date or not particulary helpful, I found this forum to be the best as the veterans are eager to help newbies such as myself, so, thanks for your patience guys.

Try BoxGetPC2 to get the BK from the ROM10 card. Once you have that, you can wipe the card using MRom and start from scratch.

You can't write a ROM11 image to a Funcard. You need to write a flash file to the card. You will find these on the BigMaq Toolbar. To get the BK, I think you need to LED Simm the Pace 4001, I might be wrong so somebody correct me if I am.

ok I'll give it a go. Where can I get BoxGetPC2? I checked the download section and I couldn't see it.

I've found BoxGetPC2 and tried to use it but I get an error in spanish, I think it is saying that there is an error accessing the backdoor....damn!

The A86 is a locking image , boxget wont work on it, you can use a rom image in your exteep on a fun instead of a hex file like toxic with the latest flash, it will work fine in place of the rom 7, you can use a led simm to obtain bk on a 4001.

is that the RS232 Flashtester Plug and Play for £25.00? So that would be a plug and play led simm? I don't need anything else with it do? I just plug it in the appropriate place on the board and plug the board in or do I need it to interface with my pc?

sorry yes the one i mentioned is 'RS232 Flashtester Plug and Play' but it does the same job as the led sim.

with the lead sim you dont need to connect anything to your pc
with the flash tester you will need to connect to your pc using rs232 cable(Make sure you have a rs232 port on your pc if you go for this option)

ok thanks alot, one last question, if you're connecting the flashtester to the pc, does the pc take the readings or is it still a matter of marking the leds or something? sorry, I'm such a noob!
