Technomate 6800 Patching!

As a newcomer to this, I hope that you can help with a question that I am sure you are asked a lot.
I have just bought a 6800 and would like to patch it. How is this done, where do I get the patched files from and what files do I get (I have seen loaders, soft keys etc)? What do I do with them, is it via memory stick or direct cable? I suppose I am looking for a dummies guide to patching!
Second question the unit has twin CI and multicard reader, and the manual says embedded Conax, can I use all Viaccess cards and cams (I want to use three cards and already have a Viaccess cam).

To upgrade the software, you must put it on a USB stick (unzipped). Put the memory stick in the receiver and press Menu, then select USB and then data transfer. Then select the *.stb file and press OK. Loading the official firmware from the Technomate website is done within seconds.

I presume tha the receiver would take all CAMs, I have a Conax CAM in mine, and it works fine. The receiver will also read a Sky card when patched.

so what kind of file is a patch?

Yes, it has the extention .stb the same as the oficial Technomate firmware.
