Default Haxorware Problems Installing

I've bricked another 250 trying to put Haxorware on a modemRight i've got the Haxorware_1.0rc.4_Ambit_Ready download with Putty and the Pumpkin prog and this is what i've done:

1. Set IP Manually to 192.168.100.10, 255.255.255.0, 192.168.100.1

2. Opened the Puty terminal, selected my Com Port and set speed to 115200, press open and get the black screen ready.

3. Opened Pumpkin and in options set TFTP Filesystem Root (download Path) to the directory where I have the Haxorware_1.0rc.4_Ambit_Ready.bin file.

4. Plug in modem & on 'p' option put in 192.168.100.1, then return until I get to the options. Then I set 192.168.100.10 and point it to the Haxorware_1.0rc.4_Ambit_Ready.bin - It asks for allow in pumpkin which I do. It then flashes with ................. as the Infinity does. At the end it asks Image does not have standard header. Do you wish to store (n) and I select Y and press enter and it saves to modem. Then I get Enter sector to start store and I select 0 and press enter. Store parameters to flash ? [n] and I press enter.

5. I then reset network to obtain IP automatically, plug cable in and reboot modem and try to log into the 192.168.100.1 page and get nothing. I then tried to reset bootloader with SoftJtag and that's when I bricked itAnother one bites the dust!

Can anyone tell me where i'm going wrong with this one as i'd like to try this software out. Thanks

i usually press Y to want to store.

also, dont bother with a 2mb dump...
just flash the haxorware firmware to the modem (approx 1.1mb)... if you screw up the flash, the bootloader will still be intact... so no bricks.

when you are asked what sector to store from, instead you will have options for "bootloader, cm bank0/2" etc

just pick first imagebank (will be 0 or 1, cant remember off top of my head)

flashing a stock 2mb dump is recommended as 666 has suggested.

however, when flashing a 2mb dump you are changing EVERYTHING and unfortunately with ambits you can brick them as they dont have a jtag port to restore the bootloader.

If you just flash the firmware rather than whole flash, if it screws up you will still have the bootloader intact, so you can reboot modem and hit "p" again and try again.

once you have a working ambit with haxorware on, you can take a full 2mb dump of the working modem from the haxorware GUI and then flash that to your next ambit using the method you originally followed.

oh, also you could trying haxorware from memory, no need to flash anything, just to make sure everything is working...

select p option, then at the menu hit "g", enter pc ip and haxorware firmware name (just the firmware, not 2mb dump) and it will download then reboot.

haxorware is now running from the modems memory rather than the flash chip.

set ip to automatic again and try http://192.168.100.1, should get haxorware page.

from there you can use haxorwares GUI to flash the modem.

alot safer.

p.s. you should do all of this with the coax unplugged, then you have no risk of VM killing your bootloader again, so no need for console unlock + softjtag.

so i now i got this going, i can just press backup and restore. then get a ambit from my area stick the dump on and i would not have to do any more settings apart from mac..

Correct.

goto backup/restore, take full flash backup.

then you can flash another ambit of same model just by flashing the 2mb dump and just change the macs and serial number.

it will already be synced and everything.
