Default Cable on PC Guide

Hey guys,

Is there any tutorials on the net on how to get VM on your PC? I don't mean by connecting a box, but by having the card/cam internally.

Is this possible with a low profile card?

Thanks to a lot of Reading through this forum over the last few days, I have got my tt-1501c to work nicely with DVBdream showing all the channels. (using Vplug)

*Nb I can only get BBC HD working n Prog dvb (looks very nice) but DVBdream crashes if I try- any ideas?

Anywhoo, a big thanks to all the guys providing information on here - invaluable.

you will need

DVB-c card such as tt-1500c from germany
Viewer such as DVBdream
Soft cam such as Vplug

then comes the hard part; finding your transponder file and keys file I was lucky enough to find a brutforce file and an autoupdate key file eventually .Once these are put in the correct place, everything kind of works.

(my problem was that I had an incorrect transponder file at first and I spend 2 days scanning and finding no channels - the 5000.ini was wrong! so I replaced the frequencies in edit mode from a prog brutforce file)

NB Please dont ask for a transponder file. you will find one eventually

Next...

I am searching for a solution to using the tt-1500c in conjunction with DVB-T tuners in media centre with softcam. Trawling the net is no help
yet !
(for example how do you tell Media centre what frequencies to scan. How would the softcam work? )

I will post any successes i may have...

Don't know if you guys would be interested but instead of using media center, try MediaPortal, it's not as polished as windows MCE, but it is free to download and with a bit of googling it can be made to work with vplug.

I'm planning on playing with XP embedded to turn some old hardware into a full media center. There are some nice exta plugins to support the things like the tt1501 remote control.

Does media portal support multiple tuners; specifically 2 DVB-T and 1 DVB-C?

Look on mediaportals hardware compatibilty list to determine if your cards are supported. Multiple cards are no problem but softcams need some extra files to make work. Restriction on softcams is only card can be enabled at a time.

Not sure on that restriction Ugg, the documentation for mdapi, tells us that a separate folder for each card will be created and plug ins can be placed in them. I only have the one card so cannot confirm this, apologies if your post is from experience
