Been using my subbed modem due to frustration (frustration over xmas is at an overload anyway ) however tried getting the hacked one back up and running. Found something interesting...

Done a speedtest on speedtest.net and got just under 3mb, again. Tried a different speed checker and got 18mb. Dodgy speed checker? Well...the other speed checker (thinkbroadband :: The UK's largest independent Broadband / ADSL comparison & review website), has an option to test the speed on port 80. So I did that and hey presto, I am back at 3mb again!

So could it be that VM are limiting their traffic on port 80? I've closed all programs on my computer doing these tests, and have no router connected.

It's Insania!
