Have to agree that it is sat every time.

I had cable once when it was clueless and witless. Yes they are supposed to fix things but that is provided they stick to their appointments. Plus VM use indian call centres which are useless and patronizing for anyone who is not a complete numpty as you tend to have a better grasp of the problem and solution then they do.

With regards to sky service charges, you could always sort your own equipment. My box broke got a new one on ebay cost me a tenner.
My dish moved in a storm, I got a ladder out and nudged (well hit ) it until I got a signal back.

New channels usually come out on sky 1st and cable second.

Cable stopped installing about 2 miles from me, so i have sky +, and also have freesat on the humax and a tm1000d. My job situation, at the mo is bad, so sky will be first to go. I will only miss the football and fishing, as the rest is mostly crap. So i will have freeview channels and 1 west , but sat every time for me

Thanks for your help guys, it does look like it could Sky FTW! But i resent paying so much when even now using a eurovox we don't watch 90% of the channels. Although we'd probably miss them if they weren't there!

Cheers

Satellite every time

Robbos setup is not unusual in the hobby world. Ive got

5 operational dishes (with several more in store just in case) which are mounted on fence posts, poles banged into the ground with a sledge hammer and a car tyre
8 lnb's
4 tv's around the house connected in various ways to the sat boxes
4 satellite boxes in regular use (quite a few hidden away in cupboards)
1 tv card in my computer
2 av senders
100's of metres of coax which is cross patched, split, and switched in weird and wonderful ways

All this gives me the choice of the choice of several thousand channels

Ive come to the conclusion my jury rigged system shouldnt actually work at all as I dont follow best practise when installing stuff. Stuff is thrown together and if it works it stays like that!

No 3pm football on Sky - you need a foreign satellite service!

"I have had"

meaning over the years, when changing between setups.

I only have one TV, 2 sat boxes and a cable box in the lounge.

Plus of course, every bedroom has satellite as well.
