thanks
my problem is that many of the channels on the small dish
are breaking up qvc etc, probably those on the weeaker satellites

so I want to have a go at moving my big dish at 19 degrees
round to 28 degrees

is there any channel i can tune to on 19 degrees that will also
pick up a chaannel on 28 ? say sky news or something ?

or is there some channel no I can punch into my techmate box ?
thanks for any comment

The chanels on 19 are completely seperate to 28. It could be that your small dish has moved out of alignment slightly. You could try giving it a nudge and see if you can improve the signal. Use services, system setup, signal test. Takes a few seconds to refresh though, so nudge it wait a min to see the effect. If not check the lnb and cable chances are water has got in there and is causing problems.

Where are you located? You shouldn't be having problems on 28E with 60cm.

1.2m is a complete overkill for the UK.

To adjust the dish, go to motorised settings, pick a transponder from 28E, and swivel the dish round and down a bit until you get good quality signal.

Check that you get the correct channels. Use Lyngsat as a reference

Your 60cm dish has probably moved and just needs realigning. Just put it on QVC and try moving it a little to get a good picture.
No point in moving the other dish.

thanks, I would nudge the dish, but for some insane reason
I had the guy put the small dish near the roof and I don t trust myself
on ladders
I should have told him to put it 5 feet up the wall so I could easily
get at it !

My 1.2 meter dish however is sat on a slab of concrete, I can get at that and move it around from 19 degrees to 28 degrees east
wot I wanted was advice onto which of my 19 degree channels to set it that might easily pick something up on 28
would you advise puttingi it on sky tv for eg ?

I can turn the dish and hit the 28 degree satellite but if my techmate box is nt tuned to a channel up there... then nothings going to happen

remember this big dish isnt motorized Im turning it manually !
there's also an annoying 1 or 2 second delay with digi before
the channel kicks in

with the old system ( pre digital ) the signals flashed up almost instantly
( as I looked thru the kitchen window to see a TV screen )

None of them, it doesn't work like that, it is digital. Monitor the signal quality while adjusting. 10773H for example.

As I said the chanels on each sat are seperate. You would have to align the dish to 28 and then scan in the chanels on your reciever. Your other option would be to add another LNB to the 1.2m dish then you can recieve both 19 and 28 without moving the dish.
