Default AltDvb / DvbDream Strange Scan Behaviour

Hi Guys
Cant get my head around this one at all
I have a Technotrend c-1501 Card in My PC installed with latest BDA drivers
First of all ProgDVB is working fine and is in a way i think related to / might provide a clue how to fix this issue
Heres what's happening

I scan all my transponders in ProgDVB - this works fine get all my channels no probs - im in pure

But i really want to use AltDVB as i prefer it - so in i goes to AltDVB and begin to manually scan transponders - I am getting a signal fine
BUT - when i scan a transponder and get some channels - i then select / key in a different transponder frequency - and get the same channels on each consecutive transponder that i scan although the transponder being scanned is explicitly different from the previous one

So AltDVB and DvbDream are both are showing this behaviour - ie if i scan a transponder and get channels - i scan 2 more different transponders and i get exactly the same channels on 2 and 3 as the first

After some investigation i have discovered that by going into ProgDvb and scanning transponder say for example 491000 - and getting channels - i THEN can go into AltDVB and do a scan of 491000 and i will pick up the actual channels on there

Then if I need a different transponder scanned i have to close AltDVB open ProgDVB and change transponder say to 459000 - scan it get channels - then go into AltDVB - scan 459000 - and i will get my channels
ie the actual channels that are on 459000

What looks obvious is that AltDVB / DvbDream dont seem to be able to actually switch to and scan a different transponder - although their software appears to let me do it
I.E it requires me to go into ProgDVB to change / scan transponder - to allow that same transponder to be scanned in AltDVB - otherwise although i change transponder in AltDVB and scan it will give me only channels off the first transponder i happen to scan - OR - by the looks of it the last transponder i viewed / scanned in ProgDVB

Bottom line i scan more than one transponder on AltDVB - on every transponder i scan (after the 1st) i pick up the same channels on each of them that i did on the first - really annoying - sorry for the long winded explanation - any ideas ?
sounds so weird i doubt if many people ever noticed this ........

Why are you manually scanning transponders?

Hi dmm1000, first off is AltDVB not just for satellite?? I’ve never heard of it used on cable (what do I know), what I do know about is DvbDream you need a transponder file for your area for DVBDream (which I assume you have) Open this with an editor (say wordpad, word etc) select all the text (Ctrl +A) then copy this to clipboard (Ctrl +C). Then navigate to the 5000.ini file in dvbdream, start/my computer/C or whatever letter your hard disk is/dvbdream/transponders/5000.ini. you need to delete all the text in there so (Ctrl +A) then delete at the keyboard. Then (Ctrl +V) to paste the text from the clipboard, then save the file, file/save as/5000.ini, dvbdream only uses the 5000.ini file to scan for cable, THEN do a scan channels/scan/scan. see what that brings.

thanks guys
nearly sure i used the file danmed supplied - thanks Danmed - and it showed the same behaviour - in the automatic scan it picked up the same channels in the 2nd transponder onwards to the last (ie the same ones it found in the 1st transponder scanned ) - im sure the card is not faulty as progdvb works fine - maybe its the way somehow dvbdream / altdvb interacts peculiarly with the dvb-c cards drivers - i'll be gone for a few days and i will check the automatic scan again with the dvbdream proper file and show you the results - dont think anyone else experiences this only me which is a pity - but i will double check and get back to you

My progdvb works fine, but when I use DVBdream, i have problems.

My auto scan picks up all the normal channels, but after it is finished, I get about 50 Animal planel and 50 chinese channels; nothing else?

have you found a solution yet?

before I restored my PC I had no probs with dvbdream

I had the exact same problem as you guys. I was using the latest dvbdream v1.4i. I went bacK to V1.41h and it works fine.
