How To Differentiate A Genuine & Clone Eurovox EX5000 PVR's

Please do not come on forums and start boasting how the original manufacturer of eurovox is paying people to make illegal software.

Rayyonics is in a lot of **** at the moment, and can do without people like you spreading **** you know nothing about.

The guy only ever imported FTA receivers.

You dont even see the point im trying to make and keep reverting back to this clone/original argument.

Manufacturers are obviously aware of Clone receivers currently flooding the marketplace, clone suppliers/manufacturers will generally “clone” a box they are supplied with which may be weeks or months old, not currently produced units !

Therefore this months clone may be fairly convincing although next month it may be otherwise, due to hardware/internal code changes.

So realistically genuine units are one step ahead and the cloners are always playing catch-up

Whichever people decide to buy does not make a blind bit of difference to me although they should be made aware of the advantages and disadvantages ?

What drugs are you on m8, you seem to read things that arent there. Where the f*ck am I implicating Rayyonics with whom may i add i have had an excellent relationship with over the past 3 years and not as a trader of any sort, they are importing the boxes in FTA form, I never claimed any different, and what do you mean boasting Im only pointing out the truth m8, everyone knows it. Why should it bother you, someone by your own addmission couldnt care less either way.

Hi,

I have now had 2 boxes both EX5000 PVR from two different suppliers, differences listed below, sorry to go on, but I feel it is important to make an informed buying decision. I have called boxes A & B and listed differences below.

Box 1 came from TechDna (A)
Box 2 DVBJunkie (B)

Differences,

Box A had 2 security seals on it, one on bottom corner had "eurovox pvr" and a second seal on top.
Box B had 1 security seal on it on bottom corner had "eurovox"

Box B, Retail box had securuity seal and hologram, box A had none of this,

Box A - Box is not so bright
Box B - Box is bright red and colourful as per pictures below

Box A had silica gel as per clone pictures,
Box B had silica gel as per genuine box

Box A had heatsink visible inside.
Box B had no heatsink.

Remote Control
Box A - Poor quality was little crack lines only just visible from manufacture process
Box B - Good quality remote no lines perfect.

Batteries
Box A - "PKCELL" in purple outer plastic at bottom is irregular and metal is dull
Box B - "PKCELL" in green outer plastic at bottom is regular and metal is shiny

I am now confident that Box A - Is either a clone and of substandard construction and attention to detail is not as good, I hope this helps somebody else not to get caught out !

Hi there all,

I have come across this thread and wondered if you would be able to advise me, or be able to post a prior thread on Eurovox EX5000 PVR.

My box seems ok, I can receive all of the channels but the hard drive I have purchased isnt registering with the box "no hard drive found".

I do know that some have had the same problem. Some fairly straight forward i.e. pushing the hard drive far enough back. I have tried this and still no success. I have also read that one member suggests 'flashing' the hard drive... what is flashing?

Lastly, the pictures of a clone box have been removed. Does anybody still please have access to this thread.
