Great guide - thanks a million. This has confirmed that my mates box is a clone ... so the next question is , is there , or will there be - a firmware fix released for Cloned EX5000 PVR's ??

Hmmm, I've just bought one of these - and it's a clone. Chucked the packaging too so can't send it back
Got it from a place called TechDNA so steer clear of them!!
For reference though, the box works fine, flashed it with the latest firmware etc. and it works perfectly, hard drive and everything.

i myself have a clone which will be going back, and was guaranteed that it was not a clone, at the moment it works fine with the most recent firmware, until there is another hit and i bet top dollar there will be problems with these then.Quote:Originally Posted by egg_nog

I had 1 of them too i emailed him as it never looked right they said
Thank you for your enquiry. As we have already stated, the receiver you have purchased comes with full warranty. As stated on our website, we do not sell clone receivers.
If you ever encounter a fault with the receiver within the warranty period, we will replace it or repair it for you free of charge.
