Yes before you ask I am trying to go online with a PSP but am failing at this hurdle. I have googled but nothing there has helped.
I am a complete idiot when it comes to networking/modems etc. I am on eircom broadband, using a dell 5150 desktop and running on Windows XP Of course if there is a more appropriate place to ask this could you point the way for me

I'm not familiar with your setup but many use the same principle for setting up.
Basically you need to access your modem/router to see what your wep key is. You normally do this from your browser. (ie internet explorer, firefox etc). You do this by typing in the ip address of your modem. This info may be in your router setup instructions. If not try pasting 192.168.1.254 into your browser address bar. It should bring up the interface for your router. Then you need to look for something along the line of 'wireless security settings.' Find wep or wpa encryption and you should have a key. This is what you need to enter into your PSP to allow it to connect to your modem/router. You may find more help here. http://broadbandsupport.eircom.net/S...5960):obj(5964) Yorks

Not sure what a psp is.but on netgear routers the ip is 192.168.0.1 to get into admin.
You usually have to set up your own wep key. Edit do you mean mac number. You will need to enter your computers mac address into your router to get online.

I think that you use wep keys and mac addresses when using wireless routers.
Please read the get out clause below

Thanks for all the replies guys
@Yorks - I have already tried entering that IP address in my browser and all it throws up is results of a MSN Live Search. This is also what the eircom site says to do @pontied - I have also tried that address @spikebaby - pming you now 4got to say before guys, that although I have wireless broadband, I have never used the wireless feature as I don't have a laptop. My desktop is 'wired in'. Not sure if this makes a difference.
