Default 2100 tuner help if needed

hi guys just thought i would share a nugget of info that i came accross. a friend broke the barrel on his 2100 it was just spinning. at first i was trying to solder it back on with no joy. then i thought balls to this and just connected the feed straight on to the second tuner inside and voila it worked. so it seens the tuner that sticks out of the box is for talkback only. also to make it look neat be carfull and cut away part of the usless tuner and make a short fly lead and use a barrel and it looks as good as new.

hope it helps if it doesnt why were you reading it lol

merry xmas if you celabrate that sort of thing.

I don’t think it would diable the TB on the sammy coz the TB is ouside the tuner it’s on the motherboard, but that can be checked from the menu just to be sure.

Hi

I agree with abbs2002 there as well, I dont think it has anything to do with talkback and as has been pointed out above can be easily checked but somehow doubt it very much.

Regards

just to add if you find the new tuner alittle far in the box i used acouple attenuators i had to bring it out almost same length with the org tuner screw bit or i you could you use a bit of cable i tried it but that found the attenuators more sturdy

right this as got me stumpted ., my m8's got a modded 2100c wich. needed the card updating, wich iv done, but it still wasent getting any sly channles.(the talkback light was flashing & said in menu return path OFF .e.c.t. SO iv brought the box round to my house to try it,, 'only around the corner', ..i put it on without changing anything , just to tyr it! & ALL the sly channles worked perfect ??? & this is the wierd1 the light WASENT flashing & it said return path ON ???????? wtf .like i said round @ his it was saying return off. (but he did keep saying to me that he used to watch .on-demand, e.c.t wiich i said u couldent on a modeded box wich has to have talkback cut, hmmm, the image on the card had 24 tiers.& think he got it of some1 he knows that worked @ VM.) if any1 want to have a look @ the image for me. i cant understand this @ all. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>(the only thing i can see wrong @ his end is the cable wire going into the f connecter is all loose, & it signal strenth was poor. ..k ty

oww sorry just 2 add ,the caps in his box have NOT been cut just checked, BUT I KNOW 4 SURE HE'S HAD IT RUNNING ABOUT 3 YEARS NOW ..& IV BEEN @ HIS HOUSE & SEEN THE LIGHT FLASHNG & CHECKED IN MENU A FEW TIMES & IT SAID RETURN PATH OFF.THIS IS VERY STRANGE !.

Hi

The f-connector being lose and maybe a strand or 2 touching the inner cable is causing signal loss thats probably why he has lost some channels as fo the talback dont know whats going on there, you sure he hasnt got one of them blockers on at his place but that wouldnt explain the on demand he seems to have been watching.

Regards
