Default Help, drive not reading

Hi, i have a modded hitachi 78 in my 360. I flashed it myself and its worked fine for about 8 months however recently its started refusing to read some of my copies, which has progressed to reading almost none of them. Ive tried cleaning the lens, however i havnt any alcohol so havnt tried that yet, it has no problem reading originals, can someone please help me out.

Thanks in advance.

What discs are you using? Have the same discs worked fine previously?

just replace the laser,a replacement can be bought for £10 off ebay, they usualy come with an antistatic blob of solder on them that needs to be removed though or else it wont work.

hi, ive tried cleaning the laser, both with a disc and manually, no luck though. How difficult is changing the laser btw and is there a tutorial floating about to do it by any chance?

Thanks for the help so far by the way, it is very much appreciated

Changing the laser is fairly easy. You can find guides on the internet, I used to have one but I don't think I have it any more.
