Very true.
But with those spec's the spawn will be frogs in no time. .It all depends what the user wants to do with the pc. Don't get the wrong idea. I am not a xp or vista fan.

Joking aside onenonly.
That looks a pritty good spec pc. But it all depends what your friend wants to do with it.If he is just roaming the net and doing a bit of word processing a lower spec pc would do the job. I am not fan of pc world or currys but they have dropped their prices a bit it may be worth a look there.

I may see your problem.
I got my friend into computers.by getting him a dell computer. He just roames the net booking holls. It payed for itself with his first booking. Two years ago. A good buy for him but a nightmare for me.He is a total tech thicki. I dread him ringing me.He keeps knackering it.I do not believe in warranty support. But when this dell packs up I feel like saying get one from pc world with a warranty. But I know this would not work he would still ring me.

Oh and going to this PC in my perspective looks alright quite high specs but i was wondering if DDR3 would be a nice tryout

If I remember right on the tests that I have read, DDR3 is no better than DDR2 on some tasks. Also unless the motherboard supports DDR3 it will run at the speed that the board supports.
