Just new to satellite being given a grundig skydigibox it looks a bit old could i use this for to pick freesat up or would i have to purchase a new box and can amy one reomend a new box also a dish and how to set up

Yes, you would be able to use your receiver to view the FTA SD channels, which encompasses all the Freesat chanels except for ITV HD.

Get yurself a Sky minidish.

Find a south facing wall.

Use dishpointer.com to find out which direction to point the dish.

Adjust dish until you get a good signal quality.
