Default Laptop Purchase Advice- Connecting To TV.

Evening all.

Am looking for a decent laptop to buy in the next few days before chrimbo and wanted a bit of advice before doing so.

Am after a laptop with decent specs, nothing outstanding, will primarily be used for basic surfing, a bit of office work but most importantly connecting up to a TV in order to watch downloaded films/stuff streamed online.

So would like advice on what kind of laptop to get or if anyone has something themselves that would match the above description.

Have got about up to £400 max, and like i said would need one mostly to connect to a TV to watch stuff. So what specifications would i need? have got a VGA/audio and HDMI input on my Sony LCD telly so thats that side sorted.

Was a bit confused when looking on the currys website that most about half of the laptops have HDMI connections it says but in the "connect to TV" check box in the specs it says NO. How could it have a HDMI connection that cant be used on a HDMI TV?

Anyways, any laptop model advice or reccomendations mucho appreciato.
