Diablo Cam

Hi all!!

I have just bought a technomate 5400 CI super and a Diablo Cam and CAS. I got this primarily to watch some EPL footy on foreign channels. Can someone please advise as to how the Diablo cam should be used in conjunction with the receiver. Is it just a matter of putting the cam into the receiver or is there some settings on the receiver that I will need to configure first? Also will the cam automatically unlock the channels that it is capable of unlocking or do I need to assign the cam to work on these particular channels?

I understand that the cam has come with underworld 149 loaded- I assume it would be advisable to upload 151? Is this a complicated process? Do I delete the existing information off the cam first?

a diablo cam is very simple to use and program. Go to "How to program a diablo cam" which is in this section of the forum. In th "Satellite help" section of the forum is an option "dowload link". Everything you need to update the cam is in there.

Note - you will need to download cas studio software, but instructions are with the programming instructions.

When programmed, diablo currently opens a canal+ on 1west and digialb on 16east for the epl.

Have a read through this thread first, if you haven't already done so:

Download Underworld 151 and the updated keys bin file from the link in the Satellite Help & Support section.

Personally I always format the cam before loading a new underworld file, this is very easy to do.
Start up the Cas Studio 8.6b, and then the Diablo Cam, software.
Click on the Cam Disk Functions tab and Format.
Once complete load the latest underworld file using the instructions in the link.
After loading Underworld 151 click on the Cam File System tab and Connect, this is how you update the keys bin file.

You should now see all the files, currently loaded on the Diablo Cam, in the right hand pane.
In the bottom left hand pane you should see the new keys bin file.
Highlight this and click the green arrow pointing right.
Click yes to overwrite the old file and that's it.

Some of the packages are now closed but you should soon find out what's available.

You might have to turn the patch off in your receiver, if you have it patched, to get the cam to work.

I have a few additional queries!!

When i bought the technomate i was told that it was patched. Firstly how can i check that it was indeed patched. Secondly how can i check that i have the latest patch and thirdly how can i temporarily turn off the patch?

I'm still a little confused about patches and cams. Can patches open somethings that cams can't and vice versa???

Ref the patch, did you buy the Technomate on E Bay? out of interest
I may go down the cam route at some time, however I have heard
bad stories of patched technomates bought on E Bay,usually this
is the only place that flogs them it seems, the spelling on some E Bay sites gives the game away, Texas English comes to mind.
If it came from a Albanian area, then it may be ok if bought direct from a UK dealer.

With older Technomate receivers I think you just pressed the Menu button and typed 2004, but as I don't own a Technomate I can't be sure, check in the Technomate section for the correct information.
The Diablo Cam opens more than a patched receiver.

A patched receiver will currently open the Digi TV package on 1W, as well as a few other channels, but the Diablo 2.3 will currently open:
DigitAlb 16E
Sex View 13E
Canal Digital 1W
Digi TV 1W
and some other channels.

Help!!!

I'm currently trying to update my diablo cam as discused . I have formated the cam and downloaded the underworld 151 file from the down load area and saved it on my desk top (Underworld 151- RAR file). But when i try to find this file in the upgrade cam section i cannot view this file on my desktop- it just shows my main folders...what am i doing wrong? i am not able to select the file
