Well that may be so but from what i hear from another vm network guy is basically that when vm change their on demand service in late january that will be the moment that matters...basically if your box survives that then all should be ok.
I know that there is many posts on this subject but we shall just have to wait and see. i personally am looking to get another box but dont wanna buy another s*******w cos im not keen on their decision to stop development on their original box ,whats to stop them making all their other boxes defunct as well .
( Bahhumbug )...

Yep i know they are a bit long in the tooth now but that doesnt mean you should be grateful to get a year out of a box then have to ditch it just because the developer of the box decides its time to pull the pin on updates so as you have to buy the latest model .
For the record i have decided to buy a new box anyway but im firstly gonna wait a month or two to see if the rumours about our boxes becoming obsolete are true and secondly i want to try a different box completely ,maybe a unix based box as i feel theres a better chance of future updates coming from the massive user base of these boxes.

never knew about these boxes until early this year when "she" started on about lack of channels on basic vermin or f/view.have had a chipped box for 3 years so had no probs watching footy. anyway found this site and got a s/v, eternally grateful. hence i ,ve got no problems when boxes go down for a day or so, cos my chipped box always works.(touch wood). but if vermin do get it "right", all boxes will be u/s, not just starviews....
cheers, ynwa
