Exclamation Canal + & Digitalb

Hi Guy!!

Have spent this afternoon working at my motorised dish and have it sort of working!!! It needs fine tuning but have managed to get Thor and Eutelsat w2. I have been trying to find Canal+ on thor and the digitalb sports channels to test out my diablo cam but can't find the channels. I have done a blind search on Eutelsat W2 but still nothing- anyone got any ideas????

If your receiver isn't scanning in the new channels then they are probably already scanned in, check your channel list.
You can add them manually, check the links for the correct frequencies and PID information.

What receiver do you have?
Are you sure you're aligned to the right satellites?
What channels can you view, please post channel idents, frewuencies and other details, to confirm that you are on the correct satellite.
For 1W scan in 11325 H 24500 which should give you BBC World News, a FTA channel.

Check here fot the transponder details for DigitalB

DigitAlb on Eutelsat W2 at 16.0°E - LyngSat

and make sure you have a good signal on those transponders.

and here for CanalDigital
Canal Digital on Thor 3/5 at 0.8°W - LyngSat

Mickha,

It is a technomate 5400CI super. I'm fairly sure i have the right satellites. On thor there is a channel called "Thor 5 Launch" (sat 1.0W Thor 2/3 TP 11.247V 24.500 CH BTV-1). But there only appeared to be about 22 channels pre-stored in the receiver for Thor.

Also i can turn it to 28.2 (s*y) and pick up BBC London BBC2 etc so i think I'm landing on the right sats. Obviously i need to fine tune the alignment but the channel names should still appear- shouldn't they?

If you scan them in then yes they should appear, unless they are already scanned in.
Check your manual for how to add the channels individually and try scanning the frequencies listed in the link for Canal Digital.
If they don't scan in alter them slightly, e.g. instead of 11278 V 24500 try 11280 V 24500.

Thanks Guys!!!

Have got Canal+ sports Extra by doing a PID search.

Still can't get many channels on Eutelsat W2- but that may be because the dish isn't just properly aligned for this sat- is this a possibility? For some of the transponders on this sat i'm getting 75% quality but for some of other transponders are only at 20%. i inputted transponder 11.449 sym 27.500 pol H into the PID search but the quality is jumping about and ranging from 20-70% i perhaps naively thought that if you were able to get some channels you could get them all! i'll do a small adjustment to the dish (tomorrow or my wife will kill me!!!)

I take it i will need to add the new data bin that came out yesterday onto my diablo cam?
