It probably means wrong login, wrong password or wrong IP or possibly all wrong.

Open a dos window on your pc and try telnet 192.168.**.** where the ** are the numbers for your 9100.

If no success then try ping 192.168.**.** alter the ** numbers until you get a reply. If you have moved the box then the LAN cable may be making a bad connection so try pressing it in again.

Also if the 9100 has dhcp enabled, disable it and give the box a fixed IP.

Menu -> 6 -> expert menu -> communication settings

Tick DHCP press save and then exit, Go back to Communication settings and untick DHCP and either leave it as the assigned setting from your router or give it an IP that suits you. Leave the gateway and subnet mask the same as the router gave the box when it was in DHCP mode

Write down the given / assigned IP address.

From the command promt type

Telnet 192.168.xxx.xxx (Type in the assigned IP)

User = root
password = (This should be blank or technomate)

Once in change your password by typing in telnet

Passwd

You will then be prompted to enter a new password.

Once done you will need to put in the password again before it changes

You will then need to add the same settings into TCC

the problem was the pasword for the TM, I followed a guide that said to put in root (usernameand technomate so I did

I put in root and left password blank!

im now getting this
"Bootmanager: not found"

which was fine last night!

I set up the TM ip as 192.168.1.100 (as in a guide)

but it has changed its self a few times
Im thinking that It something to do with the ports in the router,
I now have the TM on port 3 of the router and the TMs ip has changed to 192.168.1.3 ! Is that that normal?

Eitherway its settled on a ip so im fine with it now!

You need to go into connection manager in the TM9100 and remove the tick from DHCP otherwise everytime you reboot the box your router will asign the TM a different ip address
