hi all. i tried setting up the dish today using a sat finder i got off ebay. it doesn't say on the instructions what your actually meant to do. i connected it up and i had the settings on -6dB and all i was getting as a reading was 2. what does that mean? when i was turning the dial the signal indicator was going up and makeing a noise but i have no idea what that means. can anyone help me? the link for the sat finder is below

turn sat finder all the way up rotate dish til you find the desired signal(e.g. 28e) you want reader = 10(beeping!) then turn down signal reader (not all the way) and fine adjust dish so that signal(and beep) go up

doesnt matter which way the dish is pointing if i turn the dial all the way up it does a beeping noise thats y i was a bit confused.

You turn the dial so that the needle is about half scale. Then you adjust the dish. If the needle starts getting towards full-scale, you adjust the knob to get half scale again. Adjust the dish to get a peak repsponse in the needle deflection.

The instructions that I had for the one I bought from Maplin did have that in there.

However the meter itself stopped working.

I now use a Technomate TM1000 and a 7" LCD TV,works every time, and tells me if I have the right sat. I prefer it to my Lacuna sat meter.
