hi. i tryed to set up my dish today but with no luck. i did manage to get nearly 2000 channels on hotbird but all of em were scrambled so i moved the dish about now i cant seem to get anything. do i need to point the dish 28.2degres east from south?? also how do you find out the angle of the dish? ive got it set at 30 degres at the moment. thanx

Try dishpointer.com

If you can find 13E again you can work round the arc one satellite at a time

13E - 16E - 19E - 23.5E - 28E

thanx i enterd my postcode( LL413AX) and it gave me these
Elevation: 22.7°
Azimuth (true): 141.8°
Azimuth (magn.): 145.4°
LNB Skew [?]: -14.4°

Do i need to skew the LNB then? if i do which way?

28E is so strong you dont really need to skew it. However to finish the job off properly you need to have the lnb skewed so the screw point on the lnb is at about "7oclock"

if you can't have someone looking at signal strength get a sat signal finder from maplins about 10 quid worth every penny ... also a compass can be handy for rough idea of angle(degrees)

no difference but they have different transpondeurs frequencies. if you use one sat transpondeur on another they give the same channels.
