Had .net already, run the other one and softjtag now works, cheers

I have 2 softjtag 3.10, when going into the file, one says softjtag.exe and the other says softjtag_BBB_Mod_SB5101, will either do?

Should I follow the advice from this thread if it crashes?
SoftJTAG Crash fix :)

Last of all, do I need the 2.1.6 bootloader in the same file as the softjtag that I use?

It's like Krypton factor lol

UPDATE:

I've managed to work out how to get the softjtag working, connecting and writing the bootloader 2.1.6d.

Following the tut, it says when it is complete and the file has written, close softjtag.
I've done this twice now 1st time I just clicked on the red X, second time I clicked on disconnect then the red X.

After both times I've re-booted the modem but haven't gotten the "P" option and just loads up in to the v3.x.x bootloader!

Edit: 3 times now, 3rd time just minimised softjtag (didn't work) and still didn't get the "P" option.

Am I missing something? Am I doing something wrong??

This question is to everyone

yep, got all that for about 15/20 mins and didn't crash.
IIRC when it stopped, the last line said something like ""flash written ok" (not exactly that but similar).

should just power off modem, run hyperterm etc and connect, then power up modem.

you need to catch it on first boot, otherwise the firmware will update the bootloader again.

So you don't even have to close softjtag down?

1. When written flash ok, power off modem

2. open hyper terminal config COM1 (115200 & change hardware to none click ok)

3. reboot modem and pray ?????

in this order?

When I had enough last night, the flash was written and everything was open (ie: softjtag was open on the screen with all the data) and I just unplugged the modem from the mains so I'll set up hyper terminal straight away when I get home from work and try again.

One thing I noticed when HT is open, when I plug the modem in it takes a few seconds before anything happens, then starts with ...... then all the data processes with now options.

Could I possibly be using the wrong HT connection?
