Default I know I'm being thick here but....!

I am trying to unload fixes and have installed both winrar and pkzip. I download an update and save it to desktop. When I try and extract it in both winrar and pkzip, a box opens and a long list of files seem to be extracted but the box closes automatically and nothing happens after that!

I just can't work out what I'm doing wrong!

Exactly the same thing happens with winrar! I don't understand it because I was opening these programs fine in December.

Your original post says you are trying to 'unload fixes', should this say upload or are you trying to go back to an older firmware? It may also help if you tell us which eurovox you have.

Also I second getting rid of pkzip. Make sure you have the latest version of rar for your os (e.g. Windows, Linux, Mac) and then reboot your pc after installing.

If its a more recent Eurovox you don't have to extract the file at all. Download the zip file to your desktop, double click on the zip file (win rar should open and you should now see the contents of the zip file (most likely an .exe file & a .txt file), run the .exe file by double clicking and the uploader will run.

Sorry, I meant download. It's the max v blue clone fix. I'm doing exactly what you are saying. Downloading to desktop and double clicking it. Winrar is starting, it very quickly scrolls through what I assume are programmes being extracted and quickly shuts down again leaving the original unextracted file on desktop.

In which case its a different kettle of fish. Assuming you got your file from the tcb toolbar & you have the correct file (which should be a .bin file and the only file in the zip file) you also need some software Voxer or DnUpman in order to upload the file to your Evox.

Have a wee search of the forum everything you need is in here, I have no experience with Max's and have never tried this technique but I learnt it by taking some time to read other posts.

I think you may have hit on something there. I've just downloaded an old version of firmware and it opened up fine. I'll try downloading voxer.
