Hiya guys, im so new to this all and i havent got a clue!... I bought a ambit 256 Chipped virgn media modem. Ive tried to connect it through my router, it will connect and say Local and Internet and msn messenger will try to log in, then a couple of seconds later it will say Local only. The webpage has got some sort of redirection thing on it... Where it will only go to the Virgin media sign up page, and it wont let me leave the page. Does this have anything to do with it?

Is there any way or setting that i can do to get it working?

Cheers for that, how exactly do i do it... ive read alot of things, but there is so many conflicting things, that im still not 100% sure how you change the mac address???

256 you need to take back to the guy who sold you it.

to change mac you need to reprogram the modem with hardware.

unless hes got an SPI programmer + test clips, you wont be able to help him.

i tho he had problem with changing the mac address, well if i cant , at least i tired helping him, is the thought that counts and tryin

as i said, the 256 needs hardware to change the mac address, its not the same as a 250 or 255.

please can someone tell me where to start in getting a modded modem, can someone recommend a suitable seller on ebay, and provided me with a step-by-step guide to get me up and running
