I use webepg and there is a new radiotimes file there which includes some extras and also programing changes. The post link below, It's is pretty complete for what you want just copy the file from the post below to

....Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\WebEPG\grabbers\GB

h**p://forum.team-mediaportal.com/epg-grabbers-tuningdetails-296/uk-radio-times-webepg-grabber-updated-49334/

I also found you need to run thru all the current mapings as some changed and you may get new holes. Just click on each and check it has a webpage assigned.

Well I posted earlier on saying I couldnt get mediaportal to work.

So this time I made a fresh partition with a fresh Vista and the install went hitch-free. I dont know what I was making such a fuss about. There must have been some service interfering with mediaportal before.

I have also got VPlug working using the 2008 Mdapi install pack from DVBN

I had problems registering the filter originally, but even though I thought I had V++ installed, I hadnt installed the 2 recommended updates!
(if Mdapifilter.ax isnt registed properly, the MDPlugins folder will not be automatically created) For those struggling, here is what I did.

Find the MDAPisetup 2008 thread on DVBN and download file

Download and install the 2 V++ files on the same thread (otherwise installation wont work)

Open up the MDApisetup folder and run installfilter

Start Mediaportal and view a free channel then exit

Stop TVservice start-run-services.msc...look for TVservice..stop

Navigate to Tvserver/MDPlugins and edit MDAPIcards . Change the name of your card to something simple. I found I had errors because my card had Symbols (ie dvb/c) in the title so I used Technotrend0

5. Make a folder with that name in the MDPlugins folder and put all your Vplug stuff in it. Add a 0 ie Technotrend00

Restart TVservice

EDIT! Dont forget to tick "Cam is present" in server setup otherwise it wont work

NB Channel change is really quick. Quicker than dream I think

Ok Not loving Mediaportal quite so much now.

The problem is my Technomate E700 is not changing channel or generally working in MP. ironic. I thought once I cracked DVB-C/ V Plug the rest would be easy.

Gutted as my DVB-T works Fab in VMC.

Anyone had experience with Mixing Terrestrial/ Cable in Mediaportal.? I have mapped all my channels correctly, but I get Good picture sometimes, sometimes Unable to Start Graph/ Black screen/ and "No Video" in equal measure.

Went as far as installing a Virgin Vista with No Vplug, cable card or anything else. Still rubbish

I read somewhere that it has taken one member Months to get Mediaportal where he wants it. I am starting to think the same thing. (Worth it in the end though)

Do you get the problem when switching from a DVB-C channel to a DVB-T and back again? or just when switching through any??

I used to get the "unable to start" when there was no TV Card free and it was normally down to the EPG clogging things up.

You could attempt to make a hybrid card in TVServer which would let you merge both cards together as one - this may help you.

Fixed!

I hadnt bothered installing any codecs on the fresh install (after all BBC HD looked great) Anywhoo, I installed K-lite for my MKVs and hey presto DVB-T is suddenly solid as a rock! (There were also the odd windows update.) I can choose T or D and Record so far with no hang ups

Next Ill put V-plug and all that back on next Ill let you know how it goes.
(Mrs Dancake uses VMC on another partition for all her eastenders and stuff so It is a bit hard to get things done sometimes!)

I spent the whole of last weekend setting up Media Portal and I'm very hapy with it.
I find that my FloppyDTV seems to run smoother than with VMC and I;m loving how configurable everything is. Makes me wonder how I used Media center for so long.

Vplug went back on without a hitch which was nice.

It has to be right otherwise MrsDancake wont be persuaded to migrate from mediacentre

Look in the media portal forum under epg as someone has posted a new radiotimes xmltv file to use otherwise you will miss a few channels you want namely SkyScreen 1/2. Oh and you will need the new webepg.exe file the one in 1.0 release does not work.

Its all listed there if you want a nice 2 week epg.
