Which skin is that, dancake?

What plugins have you gone with? I really would like a "roadmap" for MP so I don't spend ages getting the ferking thing working, THEN find yet another pluging to install...

That skin is the Xface one. It works quite well. Really want an MCE one for the wife though but there isnt one around that works yet.

I have just installed the Shortcutter Plugin for setting up my Remote; (you can map key presses to actions ie "Guide" and I can then program my remote reciever to do the same .the rest is pretty standard at the moment . I havnt set up DVD and Music etc yet so it isnt the end of it!

Now have the 2 Week epg now. Had to spend a while mapping channels in the config programme but its ok now (also all data doesnt load immidiately in guide so be patient.)

Successfully recorded 3 channels at once too.

It is funny that I hated MP at first becasue of all the setting up but I am at a point that I am going to test drive it in anger this week with sceduled recordings etc to see if it falls down. If it works ok, MCE might go.

If I can remember it all, I will document my install from start to finish If I get some time (including Vplug etc)

Hey Dancake.

Did you manage to get a complete EPG and are you using the built in Web epg?
I had many cannels that I could not find any listings for.

You can download logo packs (google "uk mediaportal logos" or something) and paste into

C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\thumbs\tv\logos

(this is for vista; might be different for xp)

I had afew missing so just used google images+save as for the rest

I have all my channels (that I need) with webepg except baby tv which doesnt have any radio times listings....

some channels I have left out of my guide, mind you , as I will never watch them!

I am using XMLTV gui now which is much easier to set up than Webepg. You just have to spend a bit of time. I have put a TUT on the forum

I'd like to see this guide if you have time to make it, I'm curious as to what might be involved..
